Frequently asked questions
Tiny Tutus (ages 2–3) is a gentle, caregiver-accompanied intro for children not yet potty trained; one membership covers a child and caregiver. Little Kids Recreational Ballet (3–5) is independent, relaxed, and recreational in nature. Kids Intro Ballet (1-2), our Pre-Academy class, is also open from age 3 for a structured, curriculum-based program if potty trained. Not sure? Reach out and we'll help.
Open Division is recreational, flexible, and month-to-month, with no auditions or long-term commitment. Academy Division is our curriculum-based, year-long program for dancers ready to commit to a structured classical ballet path. Many Academy dancers started in Open Division first. Academy Division requires a placement class.
For ages 3–5, start in Pre-Academy or Little Kids Recreational Ballet, depending on whether you want a structured term-based program or a flexible drop-in style. For ages 6+ with no experience, Academy Level 1 or an Open Division Recreational Ballet class are both great. Book a free trial or placement class.
A placement class is for Academy or Pre-Academy dancers; our Artistic Team uses it to assess readiness, and placement classes can only be done during our open registration windows, and we recommend a level. A trial class is for Open Division, a chance to try before enrolling. Both are free and come with no obligation.
For Academy, notify us as early as possible; make-up classes may be available depending on circumstances. For Open Division members, unused class credits roll over for up to three months, so missed classes are not lost. Simply cancel your booked class and use your credits to book the makeup class in Momence.Reach out if you require assistance.
A biomechanically grounded ballet technique by our Artistic Advisor, Miss A (Arleen Sugano). It emphasizes proper alignment and muscle activation to reduce injury risk and build long-term strength and technical excellence. It is taught throughout our Pointe program and woven into our broader philosophy.
Our studio is led by Dr. Christa, a practicing Doctor of Physical Therapy. That clinical background shapes everything, from how we teach turn-out to our youngest dancers, to our PT-led Pre-Pointe program, to Strength and Stretch for teens. Dancers train best, and last longest, when their bodies are cared for as seriously as their technique.
Company is our performance and competition track, open to Academy dancers at Level 2 through 5. It includes additional classes, rehearsals, local performances, and competition opportunities. Academy builds the technical foundation; Company is where dancers apply that training on stage and in competition.
